Polycam is an amazing tool that allows you to create 3D images from a series of photographs (or a video) of the same object in a quick and easy way. Of course, after you've created your fifth 3D object, you'll have to pay.
In order to create a 3D image, you'll have to take more than 20 photos from as many angles as you can. Because of this, filming a video is usually easier, and the more careful you are with the angle of the shot, the closer to reality your 3D image will be. If you opt for the video option (which is recommended), you'll have to be careful not to include strange objects in the shot, and you'll also have to try to go slowly. The best thing to do is to start recording from one angle, with a tilt, and try to maintain that tilt the whole time while moving up and down, then move on to other angles.
Once you have the images, you can choose the 3D object's quality: low quality, intermediate quality, high quality, or RAW quality. A few moments later, you'll have a 3D image that you can interact with by simply sliding your finger across the screen to move it around. You can also cut it, measure it, put it in different perspectives, and so on. Finally, this app includes a community section where you can see the 3D objects created by other users.
Polycam is an absolutely extraordinary 3D and 360º image creation app that gives you access to a tool that was previously only available for 3D designers.
